Barclays Entrepreneur Awards 2017

We were delighted this month to be Finalists at the Barclays UK Entrepreneurship Awards held at the Leadenhall Building in London, led by Baroness Karen Brady.

For us, the evening was an opportunity for us to showcase our technology and the broader “AgriTech” sector to leading lights of the financial world such as Barclays UK CEO Ashok Vaswani. It is fair to say that we are still an emerging category on the wider technology scene, but such events are great to bridge the common gap in familiarity between the City and agricultural industry.

As the 2017 season closes, it was also a chance to reflect on our successes over the past couple of years:

• establishing a strong brand presence in UK agriculture

• building an awesome platform which lets farms and suppliers do business at the click of a button (and now through our app!)

• gaining wide adoption from hundreds of the UK’s leading farms

• building great relationships with progressive suppliers who understand how the industry is changing, and want to lead that journey

On the evening itself we narrowly lost out to deserving winners, FiveAI. Congratulations Stan, Ben and the team - it was truly humbling for Yagro to be ranked alongside such cutting edge autonomous driving technology.
