Frontend/Full-Stack Engineer – Mid/senior level
4 Feb 2025
The agricultural industry is undergoing a profound change. Tightening regulatory requirements, reduced subsidies and changing sustainability needs of the society. These are a few of the wider trends in the sector that require farmers to change their approach and sharpen their focus. Data and technology give farmers the insight and opportunity to reverse the long-term decline in profitability and optimise their businesses for the future.
Want to make a difference?
YAGRO is on a mission to help farmers become more financially sustainable, by offering breakthrough software tools and commercial insight. We’re developing a trusted, independent data platform for farmers to gain visibility and control over their business and get the edge in the market.
The opportunity is massive. Come capture it with us.
Up for a challenge?
We are an established, award-winning leader in commercial AgTech software, with hundreds of UK farming customers, strong revenue since launch in 2016, and long term financial support to reach our mission: make farming profitable and sustainable.
We are operating within an industry characterised by manual processes and poor information exchange. We need to distil a complex and opaque supply chain with multiple actors into a simple, elegant and scalable multi-user platform, with industry-leading analytics and data insights.
That’s where you come in.
Why you?
You’ll join the engineering department at YAGRO, an experienced and ambitious group of people shaping and delivering the company’s vision for 2025 and beyond.
We are looking for frontend or full-stack engineers who are passionate about building intuitive, user-friendly products that solve real-world problems. Beyond technical expertise, we value individuals who can collaborate effectively, take ownership of their work, and prioritise the needs of the end-user in every decision.
As a Frontend/Full-Stack Engineer, your skills and responsibilities will include:
· Develop features and intuitive user experiences that effectively address user needs and achieve business objectives.
· Take ownership of the features you build, seeing them through the entire lifecycle—from initial idea to deployment and ongoing support, ensuring reliability and performance in production.
· Bring a keen eye for design, contributing to the visual appeal of our products while maintaining performance and accessibility standards.
· Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices.
· Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to shape and deliver user-focused solutions.
· Contribute to testing, debugging, and optimising applications to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
· Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of our tools and processes.
· Stay curious and proactive, identifying opportunities to improve the user experience and streamline development.
Who are we looking for?
· Strong proficiency in JavaScript, with experience in modern frontend frameworks like Vue.js (Nuxt.js is a plus).
· A solid understanding of frontend design principles, including accessibility, responsiveness, and usability.
· Knowledge of backend technologies, particularly Python and frameworks like Django or Flask.
· Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
· Experience with frontend tools and methodologies, including component libraries (e.g., Storybook) and utility-first CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS, UnoCSS).
· An appreciation for automated testing, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
· Proficiency with development tools like Git and Docker.
· Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, and infrastructure tools (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform) is beneficial but not required.
