Information Security. A Key Pillar of Connected Agriculture

As more organisations connect and share data across the agri-food supply chain, information security has become a critical part of building trusted digital infrastructure. That’s why we’re pleased to announce that Yagro has achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification, the recognised standard for information security management.

Achieving trusted digital infrastructure relies on three principles, and those three principles have shaped how we’ve developed our technology and underpin the way we manage information across the business. 

Firstly, data needs to be connected, validated, structured and standardised. Without that foundation, even the most sophisticated analysis will produce inconsistent results.

Once it is structured, users need confidence in the intelligence generated from that data. Better decisions come from accurate, well-governed information, not disconnected datasets but implementation comes from trusting that information. 

Finally, and crucially, the systems handling that data must be secure, permissioned and built to recognised standards. Businesses need confidence that information is only accessible to those who need it, and, only used for the purposes they’ve agreed to. 

At Yagro, we’ve spent years building technology around those principles. That’s why we’re pleased to announce that we’ve achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification, the international standard for information security management.

For us, it’s independent recognition of the standards we’ve been building towards as we continue to develop secure, connected software and digital infrastructure for agriculture and the wider food supply chain.

ISO 27001:2022 provides independent assurance that we have the policies, processes and governance in place to manage information securely across the business. It demonstrates that information security is considered throughout our design, development and operation of our platforms, not a standalone technical function or bolt on.

For our customers, that means confidence that data and information is managed within a recognised framework, supported by robust governance, risk management and continual review. It also reinforces our commitment to ensuring data is only accessible to those with permission to use it, while maintaining transparency around how information is managed and shared.

Achieving ISO 27001:2022 builds on a number of milestones we’ve hit over the past few years.

In January 2023, we became a founding member of Farm Data Principles, reinforcing our commitment to transparency, fairness and ensuring farmers remain in control of their own data.

In December 2025, we achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification, demonstrating that we met recognised cyber security standards.

ISO 27001:2022 is the natural progression of that work, extending beyond purely technical security to encompass the governance, processes and culture that underpin how information is managed across the business. It provides independent recognition of the standards that support everything we build and reinforces our commitment to continuously inprove our systems and processes, ensuring we stay ahead as the industry evolves.
